Jasmine Sambac

Jasmine Sambac

Jasmine is a fragrant flowering plant known for its delicate white flowers. It's prized for its sweet scent and is often used in perfumes, teas, and aromatherapy. With cultural significance worldwide, jasmine symbolizes love, purity, and beauty.

  • Light: Place jasmine plants in a location with bright, indirect sunlight. They thrive in sunny spots but should be protected from harsh afternoon sun, especially in hotter climates.

  • Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, and avoid letting the plant sit in water, as this can lead to root rot.

  • Temperature: Jasmine prefers warm temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C) during the day and slightly cooler temperatures at night. Protect it from drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations.

  • Humidity: Maintain high humidity levels, especially indoors. Mist the leaves regularly with water or use a humidity tray to keep the air around the plant moist.

  • Fertilizing: Feed jasmine with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) to promote healthy growth and flowering. Reduce fertilization in winter.

  • Pruning: Regularly prune jasmine to maintain its shape, remove dead or diseased branches, and encourage new growth and flowering. Pruning should be done after flowering.

  • Support: If growing a climbing variety, provide a trellis or support structure for the vines to climb on.
